Summary:

The SBA Loan Processor is responsible for packaging, document preparation, closing and funding of SBA and other commercial loans. The SBA Loan Processor will work in conjunction with the loan officer, business development officer, borrower, and external parties to successfully process the loan from application to closing.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Review assigned loan files and determine information required for closing.
  • Order and review third party searches and reports.
  • Input and maintain files in the SBA Application software and SBA Servicing core processing systems.
  • Prepare and submit SBA application and closing documents for signature and submission to SBA.
  • Prepare and review SBA Authorization for accuracy and SOP compliance and ensure terms and conditions correspond with approval documentation.
  • Ensure funds are disbursed correctly and all fees are posted to the applicable general ledger accounts.
  • Coordinates closing with title company, attorneys, brokers, certified development companies, et al. Understands each party’s responsibilities and procedures, inclusive of title insurance (exceptions, endorsements, etc.), title instruction letters and perfection of all collateral.
  • Complete initial audit of loan file and coordinate transfer to servicing function for final audit review.
  • Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with all Bank regulations, policies and procedures related to the position including those related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service in a professional manner to customers, employees, and business partners.
  • Track and clear all tickler items within a reasonable period after closing.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the SBA SOP’s.
  • Assist management in defining and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Background:

  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience with SBA loan processing/closing for 7a and/or 504 loans.
  • Working knowledge of SBA SOP’s.
  • Prefer working knowledge of LaserPro documentation system.
  • Prefer working knowledge of PCFS Solutions – Credit.Wrx & Loan Manager.
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets (Word & Excel).
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, writing, listening).
  • Strong attention to details, accuracy, time management.
  • Self-driven and able to work in an environment with limited definition.
  • Strong multi-tasker
